The Embodied Voice: How Breath Shapes Presence, Confidence and Connection
Your voice is more than sound. It is a powerful expression of your presence, confidence, and authentic self.
Join Dr Sara Matchett, Associate Professor at the Centre for Theatre, Dance & Performance Studies, for an immersive voice and breath Masterclass where science, embodiment, and experiential learning come together to help you unlock the full potential of your voice. Through guided practices, you'll explore the relationship between breath, posture, movement, vocal resonance, and self-expression.
Discover how the diaphragm, pelvic floor, transversus abdominus, and vocal cords work together to create a grounded voice. Through practical exercises, embodied awareness, and playful exploration, you will learn how tension, emotion, and breathing patterns influence the way you communicate and show up in the world.
This masterclass is ideal for professionals, facilitators, coaches, educators, performers, leaders, and anyone wanting to deepen their connection to their voice and presence.
In this Masterclass you will:
Understand the anatomy and physiology of breath and voice
Experience how posture and movement influence vocal expression
Develop greater breath awareness and diaphragmatic agility
Explore vocal resonance, range, and projection
Learn practical tools to support confident communication
Reconnect with your voice as embodied presence
